Obituary for Steve Vinyard
Stephen D. “Steve” Vinyard, age 67, of Harrisburg, Illinois passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 27, 2024 surrounded by his loved ones at his residence. He was born December 18, 1956 in Harrisburg, Illinois to Floyd Dale and Judy Kay (Nolen) Vinyard. Steve was an active member of the community with over 25 years working in the Harrisburg School system. He spent many years as a member of the Sons of the American Legion, and was an avid supporter of the Harrisburg Bulldog Athletic Department. He also enjoyed watching Kentucky Wildcats basketball, Alabama Crimson Tide football and was a big St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Surviving are his children, Brad and wife Holly Vinyard of Norris City, Illinois, Brooke and husband Kurtis Brown of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, Dr. Ben and wife Hilary Vinyard of Norris City, Illinois, and Rachael and husband Gabe Trotter of Harrisburg, Illinois. Sister, Julie and husband Larry Piche of Harrisburg, Illinois. Eight grandchildren, Preston Vinyard, Lydia Vinyard, Keely Upchurch, Silas Vinyard, Lyla Vinyard, KJ Brown, Noah Vinyard and Haven Trotter. He also had several nieces, nephews, cousins, beloved friends and cherished students.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents, brother, Keith Vinyard and sisters, Lisa Briggs and Amy Kurtek.
Funeral services for Steve will be 3:00 P.M. Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the Harrisburg High School with Rev. Ron Reed officiating. Burial will be private. Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday, March 1, 2024 at the Harrisburg High School. Arrangements in care of the J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg, Illinois.
